We must cease being participants in our own oppression
— Stacey Abrams

Stacey Abrams refused to concede in 2018 when she was not elected Governor Of Georgia. She did not, however claim victory. She merely said that to concede would be to say that the process was fair, and it wasn’t.

I’m not talking about the foot-stomping, decidedly orange toddler on the playground type of “unfair” here. I’m talking about the long-standing systemic issue of voter suppression. It’s so odd to me that this is a contested reality, when at this very moment our president is throwing out lawsuits like parade candy with the singular goal of suppressing votes. *sigh*

Stacey Abrams is the founder of Fair Fight, an organization that promotes fair elections and educates citizens about the election process. She claims in the video below that after election night, her organization received over 50,000 phone calls from people who tried to vote and were denied the right. She lost the election by only 55.000 votes, making her refusal to concede EXTRA VALID. Stacey has been fighting this fight for voters since 2013 when she launched The New Georgia Project. When she lost the race for Governor, she kicked it into high gear through her work with Fair Fight.

Today, Stacey is in the spotlight due to Georgia being such a key player in the limbotic hellscape that is the 2020 election. She is credited with the voter registration of over 800,000 Georgians, and for the fact that Georgia is about to pull a Violet Beauregarde.

Thank you, Stacey Abrams.
